RANT BOARD!

Post by Demon on Thu Feb 02, 2012 8:03 am

*cursing included*

I'm sorry, Kagu. I need a rant board. My rage cannot be held in.

Religion included in rant. If you're highly religious, please do not take offense as I am not targeting any religion or their followers. I am not targeting anyone's religion, but more ranting about one man who is trying to pick a fight in a one-month long, online Philosophy class. I mean, really?

First, that is not the definition of sarcasm. Sarcasm is the use of irony to convey contempt. Whoever told you your definition of sarcasm was obviously trying to piss you off. Just like you've pissed me off with your own sarcasm.

Second, who signs up for a philosophy class and then complains about other peoples' views? Did you not think the teacher would cover God as a topic? Did you not see it in the syllabus? Did you think all the other 29 students in the class would be Christian and praise God for his uber greatness without question?? Reality check!

I said I'm Agnostic, dipshit! I said I neither confirm nor deny God's existence, not that I don't think He exists. That's called being an Atheist, something I am not. Try learning to read peoples' post before you assume things about them. Try not to push your beliefs onto people as I have not tried to push mine onto you. There are seven billion people in the world, each with their own thoughts and experiences. I'm hoping this class helps you become open-minded.

I'm ranting here now so I don't respond with snide and sarcastic remarks on the class's conference room (part of my post explaining what sarcasm and how exactly it's used). I don't want to have my grade effected or kicked out of the class because some asshole couldn't conceive the idea that there are people with different thoughts and ideas. I would like to get a good grade and have this course over and done with.
I have thought of about at least three different sarcastic and stinging responses to your post, dissecting it bit by bit in a way that would have made even Socrates proud. But no, my responses have always remained civil (anyone who's seen the conversation could testify to that) and surprisingly without a hint of passive aggressiveness. I have even thought of a reply to your latest post, having gone through and explained why I think what I do in detail. Excuse me for more analytical and skeptic about religions than most others you have met. It must be a new experience for you, but there really is no need to defend your religion when I don't really care either way. This has always been my thought process, I question things. Again, I hope this class helps you realize that there are more ways to look at something than one, least we never have diversity in anything.

But no. I have also talked about this with my dad (yes, this steamed me even past my parent's attempts to cool my head) and he showed me how pointless it would be to even continue this... er, argument? I don't think it's even that so much as one person trying to defend something he doesn't need to, and know he doesn't need to if he clearly understood what I wrote. Anyway.
I have erased my long, in-depth response to your post and replaced it simply with, "Thank you for your opinions." I see now that otherwise, we'd just continue in circles with neither side able to be right or wrong on this controversial topic. In other words, what's the point of continuing this never-ending debate that cannot be proven or won by any? We will only be in the same class for a month, and even then we can avoid each other by not posting in each other's main topics.

It's not worth it. I can step back and be a bigger man. Please prove you can do the same.

---

It's not my intention upset anyone about their views on anything and if I have, I'm deeply sorry. I'm just ranting about one man's close-mindedness, it could have just as easily been about someone's close-mindedness on any other issue. =) That said, please don't turn this into a religious debate.

Yeah, close minded people are rather annoying. Though I would have definitely corrected him about Agnostic vs Atheism, there isn't anything opinion related about the difference between the two.

If he were to continue to confront me, I would have linked him both to the definition of sarcasm and agnostic vs. atheist.

Thanks Blair. :3 -hugs- ^^

People really need to harden the fudge up!

D:<

I get that some of my patients have it rough, and I certainly know that their lives aren't easy, but letting your pain rule your life is certainly not the solution to your current misery!

Coming in to see me, and then spending the best part of half an hour every session swearing crassly and bitching non-stop is both emotionally draining and not particularly productive, especially when you have taken none of my advice, and just keep doing the same rubbish over and over again.

Stop thinking that the world is out to get you; if you believe it, you will only ever see the negatives in life and completely block out all the positives, making your life, and the people around you as miserable as hell.

So next time you want to vent your frustrations, pick someone other than me once in a while, because everytime you do it, I end up in a vile mood.

So much stress is building up inside of me it's tough handling so much and keeping quiet. A lot of it's personal like my everyday thinking, sometimes love life...things in the past that haunt me, family and friends.I tend to worry and think too much to the point of illness.

When I feel like opening up more I may very well do so.
If not I will be holding it in... >.<;

So much to do, so little time~ =3 Haven't even put a dent in the things I have to get started on. I haven't even gotten a reply back from some of the colleges I applied to, and I already should get a start on spring applications for next year.

Why does the overseas postal service work so slow? I thought the military was more efficient than this. ;_; (-inwardly scoffs at her own words-)

I am once again going through a lot but I'll be okay, eventually.
I'm sad that certain things have happened but I'll be strong.
I'm going through a lot emotionally and only have 2 friends offline besides my nephew.I have a few online I try to talk to but I have a bad habit of isolation and disappearing.I might eventually lose everyone I love online... -.-;

The dentist said I can get anxiety medicine for when I visit the dentist. Why~? Because my dad's retired military and not active duty, thus putting us lower on priority. I mean, I understand that, but what's that got to do with giving me an anti-anxiety pill for when I visit the dentist?!

I went to four months of therapy just for the therapist to say the best option would be to get a pill to help calm me in the chair (I won't get into details, but it's bad). My therapist said I can't desensitize to the noise, which seems to be my trigger, so the best option is a pill to help.

Then the dentist office says I can't get one pill each visit just because of my dad's status?! Bullshit!

I think that sucks how they treated you.
If you have anxiety from the noise and etc.
You may definitely need something to calm you down.
