Rahxephon: The world suffused with sound

Ah Rahxephon, what some may call a ripoff of Neo Genesis Evangelion(in some ways it is, in many other ways it is not), Rahxephon on the exterior looks like a Giant Mech series, but it makes for a very shallow exterior tbh, it's the interiors of the series as intricate as they are that makes the series interesting.

Storyline wise, Rahxephon follows the lead, Ayato Kamina and his meeting up with main female lead Haruka Shitow, who proceeds to turn his entire perception of the world he is living in, upside down. There's a lot more to that, but anymore and I start to get very very spoilerish.

I will say that Rahxephon is very clearly a mind fuck in many ways. There will definitely be more than a few times you will be going, "Wait..., what!?" Much rewinding done for sure. In the end though, I don't think any of the revelations the series has become too far gone to reconcile, and in the end, helps to further weave an intricate storyline instead of tangling it up. As an action mecha series, Rahxephon may be lacking quite a bit, but the characterizations and emotions that drive the series are astounding, and for those that are able to look past the mecha aspect, I say Rahxephon is definitely worth a watch.

I remember watching this series~ and not understanding it, but at the same time really liking it. o_O I don't know how that's possible, but yeah. I really liked the main female lead.

Its funny because I dont think the mecha was as important as other mecha shows. It was definetly a character relation driven show. The movie is even screwier.

Oh? It can definitely be hard to follow sometimes, the interconnection between the characters, but in the end, I was able to get all/most all of it. I think it's able to be liked, even if you didn't know what's going on because the emotions really shine through regardless. Like
Spoiler:
Asahina's death
is one of the sadder moments in an anime I've ever seen.

Ugh don't remind me of that horrible thing. The only part of the movie worth watching are the first few minutes. After that, all it is is a bunch of hacked together scenes from the show.

Oh lol? Any reason? It is a series that is slow to start though, so I understand.

Slow, and it felt way too Evangelion-like at the time.

It is very Evangelion like, I will admit that lol, but while I hated Eva, I actually like Rahxephon. More likeable characters imo.
