War of the Six Kingdoms [One-on-One] Empty War of the Six Kingdoms [One-on-One]

Post by Demon Fri Aug 10, 2012 11:14 am

Why are Rev and I posting this here? Well, it's mostly so we can manipulate the formatting, but it's also so this section has more than one roleplay going and hoping it gets a little more active. When this one gets up and running, I can focus a bit better on the group rp. =) ... Looking at the intro I just wrote though, this rp is desperately needed so I can get back into writing. Extremely rusty. >_<

Anyway, onto roleplaying!

War of the Six Kingdoms

It was a space between spaces, a time betwixt time; a royal forum created by the ruling-class elves where the royalty of each race could gather, a place no race could claim as their own. In the large, white and circular room, each member sat evenly spaced out, no one member above or below. One had to be careful about these things, the designers noted, for the races' temporary truce was shaky at best, and formed only under a single common goal. Anything could happen in times of war, and these were truly desperate times for them to gather. However…

There were six chairs, but only four were filled.

~XxX~

The King of the Fahris scanned the room, his dark eyes glancing at each one of his peers. No one had said a word upon arrival, no one breaching the heavy silence. Each had their own take on the situation, their own approach as to how to combat the threat. He figured they might as well voice them now.

The Fahris king opened his maw, "We all remember what we agreed upon, yes?" His voice rumbled low, matching his lion appearance. The large, black pendant signifying his royal lineage resting against his golden-furred chest resting at the bottom of his mane, his padded hands folded over his lap and his powerful tail idly swinging behind him. A royal red colored robe was draped over his shoulders, worn only on occasions such as this; only black pants covered his bottom half. The Fahris were never ones for restricting attire.

A bare foot moved, signed by the slight jingle of bells wrapped around a slender ankle. "Indeed we have, my fair king." An undeniably female voice drifted about the room, pleasant yet commanding to all who heard it. The Elven Queen made a vague gesture. "All there is left to do is to present them and send them off," she ended in the Common Language.

Her pristine white toga matched the interior of the room- intricate, decorated and flawless. Small, golden ornaments lined her long, bleach blonde hair, each one placed with severe attention to detail, and a crystal headdress displaying her royal insignia. One of those long, pointed ears twitched at a faint sound across the room. "Shall we?"

War of the Six Kingdoms [One-on-One] Empty Re: War of the Six Kingdoms [One-on-One]

[I actually ended up writing more than this, but it was unneeded. @___@ If I've made any mistakes, it's because I haven't got spellchecker on this laptop and I can't be bothered to re-read it.]

"We do what we must," the Queen of Fae answered with her musical voice, the only one capable of smiling at this tender moment. The delicate coral pink sundress she wore, along with the freshly picked white flowers interwoven in her dark wave of hair and sandals, was more suited to a garden party than a meeting of such importance. One would think that she wasn't taking the matter at hand seriously, but that couldn't be any further from the truth. The Siren's silver gaze drifted from royal to royal until it settled on one of the empty spaces, the mirth in her eyes hardly benevelent. "Poor fool. He will soon see the error in his ways."

The human boy that sat beside her resisted the urge to shuffle closer to the King of Fahris on his right, unsettled by her tone and wary of her tendencies for sudden outbursts of violence, but simply gave her a side-ways glance instead. He was dressed in silvery metal armour that was for ceremonial use only (it was useless on the battlefield as it would be easily punctured), ornate in design and crested with a dragon, the symbol of his nation. A crown rested on his head, the rare jewels encrusted in the gold glittering in the light and his black curls peeked out from under it. He was only fifteen and had ascended the throne little more than a month ago. This would be his first major decision as King.

He nodded sharply, which was all the doormen needed as a sign that all four agreed and hauled open the heavy, beautifully carved doors. A group of people were standing beyond them, any chatter that had been taking place halted abruptly and they entered the forum as they were beckoned.

The first through the doors was a lynx Fahris called Jhanu. She was evidentally a fighter as, even without the many daggers that were clearly sheathed around her body, she moved with a skilled grace that only an experienced combatter could obtain. Jhanu wore footless greaves, shorts, arm bands and a sleeveless tunic that was covered in pouched belts. The parts where she was not clothed revealed black rings on her tan fur. Even though Jhanu kept her amber eyes focused on the table where the Kings and Queens sat, not once did she try to look them in their faces, instead keeping her gaze respectfully lowered.

Next was Verrix, a human with bright blue eyes and long red hair that was kept in a ponytail. The red head's slender and beautiful face drew the lustful gazes of men whenever Verrix was to pass by and every word spoken by that soft, angelic voice made them gasp... Unfortunately for them, Verrix was a straight man who happened to look like a girl. Although donning sword, shield and armour, this assumption still remained and actually heightened them, as any masculine trait in his body was hidden behind steel. He was a brilliant warrior despite this and many underestimated him in a fight.

Klo of the Fae was a centaur, her height almost intimidatingly tall and her hooves clacked loudly against the floor of the room as proudly strode in. The patterning of her dappled grey hide from her horse half seemed to continue into her human half as her skin was heterochromatic, leaving large white patches in certain places no matter how long she remained in the sun. However, this was mostly covered by the light-weight armour and barding Klo wore, rebelling from the usual nudity centaurs preferred. Both her hair and tail was braided, the black streaked with white that came from her odd colouring rather than old age. A massive war hammer hung from a belt where womanly form gave way to horse and other supplies could be seen on her back.

Beside her was Thrios, another Fae. He was short, stout and muscle-bound with a completely bald head while stubble covered his wide-set jaw. His walk was more of a march with a ram-rod straight back and gaze levelled straight forward, suggesting years of military. From Thrios' back sprouted a great pair of butterfly wings with all the shades of pinks and purples imaginable, which some found funny due to his highly masculine appearance. The fairy carried a halberd and was also decked in armour, although the crest on his breast-plate was easily recognisable, even to the new King.

"Isn't he one of your personal guards?" the Human King asked the Siren beside him. The Queen of the Fae giggled, her white teeth flashing as silver met brown.

"The best of them. And we need the best, do we not?"

War of the Six Kingdoms [One-on-One] Empty Re: War of the Six Kingdoms [One-on-One]

[I know martial arts are Asian and this is a Medieval setting, but all the other fighting types are taken! So it stays.]

Out stepped one of the famed "rangers" of the Fahris, one of the race's two infamous warrior types, along with their skilled combatants. He was a falcon, dark brown feathers speckled with light brown covering him from head to knee. His arms and legs both had three long, sharp talons on the end of them, feathers packed on the skin of his arm so he could fly at any given moment. He wore dark brown pants from the bottom of his tail feathers to his knees, the belt around his waist meant to carry his knife and other small items. The only items pressed against his torso where a bow and quiver, the weapon rangers were known across the land for having perfected - aerial archers.
Ythen turned his head to stare at the feet of his king, his pure black eyes on each side of his head and his large, curved beak closed until given permission to speak. He was made to stand next to Jhanu, though his survival instincts kept him on guard, not entirely comfortable being this close to a lynx.

Next walked out a bulky set of full-body plate armor that looked to be thick enough to stop a mace... but that was it. No body of flesh and blood was inside it. All that could be seen was a pair of small, glowing red dots that acted as the eyes of this possessed suit of armor. On the front of the grey armor, in the middle of the chestplate, was what looked to be the faded symbol of the royal human armor, the dragon-and-shield insignia of the Royal Infantry specifically. It was a surprise to many then when the suit of armor walked over to the Fae and stood next to the fairy and centaur.
Resting on its back was a broad sword big enough to be considered ridiculous; it stood at around five feet tall and eight inches the broadest part of the flat, its hilt was gold in color and the pommel housed a ruby jewel to match the red dyed metal of its fuller. Then again, when you think about it, a possessed suit of armor didn't have to deal with silly things like muscles and was only limited by how much weight the armor could handle.
Abrina waited patiently for her orders from the Siren queen.

Two high elves walked in, hand-in-hand, making their way over to their adored queen to give their greetings. They almost looked to be mirror images of each other, but their genders gave them away: one was a male named Ehuris and the other was a female named Illyeana. The pair were twins born within eight minutes of each other and they were as close as brother and sister could get. They both had long blonde hair, the male's pulled into a loose pony tail that fell straight against his back, and his sister's much fuller in volume and slightly wavy. They both had sky blue eyes and donned white togas with brown tunics and brown sandals for their trip. Illyeana had her toga specifically mended to circle tightly around her wrists and ankles, but for what reason only she knew. They were both tall and limber, skin unblemished and looking more at home in a library than out in the wilderness. But their looks were where their similarities end. Everything from their specialties in magic to their very personalities were different.
Ehuris was very typical of a high elf, highly driven by the pursuit of knowledge and furthering himself in his studies. He specialized in elixirs and the arcane arts of the spirit and mind. His favorite place being the library, he was a walking encyclopedia of random knowledge.
His 'older' sister on the other hand, was sort of the black sheep of the high elf community. Illyeana was promiscuous, even by high elf standards. She too was driven by knowledge, but more so satisfy any growing curiosity than to study. She was brash where others of her kind would eloquently steer clear and she chose to study the physical elements - which was great, if bizarre, seeing as how she seemed to have almost a genius-level ability at controlling them. There was some mystery to this woman, however, as she never talked about her past to anyone and she absolutely refused to used Flora magics, never telling anyone why.
High elves, considering how reclusive and slightly xenophobic they are with any other races, the elf queen had to hand-pick two elves herself. (Though the dark elves and forest elves were out of the question, so the queen really had no choice.) So here they were, lightly kissing their queen's cheek in greeting after being voluntold to do this job. Illyeana gave her queen a quick kiss to the queen's outstretched hand, earning an amused grin by said royal, before joining her brother in their place.

And finally, last to come out was a human woman who was only just able to contain her discomfort. Her unease was cast out in waves, not used to gatherings like this and possibly only here by special circumstance, and it was easily sensed by the races more in tune with their primal selves. But why wouldn't she be uneasy? This was her first time seeing anything besides humans before (so many of them!) and the royalty of these races no less! She schooled herself though and didn't make it obvious.
The situation in the human kingdom was... less than desired, so the king had to use the resources he had within his own kingdom. Thus he traveled to a clan of trained mercenaries, their skills passed down from generation to generation, and paid a price for the service of one of their elite - thus Lauren was here. She was a trained scout and assassin, using the wooden bo staff hooked to her sash, or mixed martial arts. She uses concealed knives to finish off the job. She had tanned skin from working outside all day and dark brown eyes. Her matching hair was pulled into a short ponytail, so short that if she let it fall, her hair would only reach her shoulders. She wore a dark orange tunic that was as loose as her brown pants (and boots) around her body for easy movement. The sash wrapped around her torso to hold her bo staff and tied around her waist to conceal any other items she had.

When no others came out, the Fahris king started again, "We will go over the plan once more and send them on their mission."

"Ah, but before that," the Elf queen interjected smoothly, smile pleasantly. "Does anyone have any questions or concerns to or about our young warriors? Anything they wish to be brought up?"
