Yuri Classification: Necessary?
About the yuri anime forums, I think that the division into 3 forums (Definitely Yuri + Secondary Yuri, Subtext, and Googles Required) isn't really needed. Every people have different definitions and views about which animes that should enter those forums. (Especially the 2 last forums).
For example I wonder why Azumanga Daioh is classified as a 'weaker' yuri series than K-On, considering that Azumanga Daioh has one canon lesbian character.
It should be one big 'Anime' forum. (or at least 2 forums, combine Subtext and Googles forum, but imo it will make another confusion)
Well that's my 2 cents, thoughts?

Okay so letting out a little secret plan. While under construction everything was split up into genera, but then there was huge debates about what went where. (the magical girl type broke everything). In the end I belive kagu chose a yuri "scale" to make thinga easier. That said not surw about the whole azumanga daioh/k-on thing

I'm assuming we can shuffle bits around later, too.

Things can be shuffled around as necessary.
And as Goggles said, there was a huge fuss over putting things into genres and that most of it was over what counted as Magical Girl or not, so the "Yuri Gradient" idea was introduced. It seems to be working well enough so we're keeping it as the organizing factor.

And hey, if a stirring debate breaks out over where a series belongs...that's entertaining forum activity (so long as it stays under control).

Re: Yuri Classification: Necessary?
So, now that we have series classes by yuri potential, how does this affect pairings?
Sure, they're sub-sectioned under the series, but are they further divided into Canon/Fanon/Crack-a-licious/WTF??!?!? sections? Should they have a separate Pairings section?
For that matter, will there be a "sing the praises of/who's your fave" section, for individual chars, as well as pairings? Will there be a separate section for threesomes (c'mon, you know you want to see if Shizuru can make Natsuki snap)?
...okay, I think I've chummed these waters enough, for now.
