The Deal by Nai89 fanfic GONE?!?

I was browsing ff.net and I noticed that this great fic is gone.
The title is The Deal by Nai89.
The plot was about Natsuki seeking revenge against Shizuru's father, and Shizuru had to stay at Natsuki's manor for a year.

It was a wonderful fic. The author had other great stories too.
But now everything is gone!! There's no trace of the author or any of her/his other stories.

Does someone know what may have happened? If the author suffered plagiarism or was forced to remove his/her stories due to a problem?

Also I'd like to know if someone was able to save the fanfic. I'd like to keep it so I can read it again.

I actually didn't like The Deal very much. It was well written, but I had major issues with basic plot elements (ex. Why was Shizuru restricted to such a feminine stereotype whereas Natsuki could do whatever she wanted?).

We are in a quite similar situation. Except, I'm searching for a different story.
Just a suggestion, if you love fanfiction very much, download your favorite fanfiction. If you do a little work and save it in excel, it wouldn't need a large memory space. Besides, about 5 of my favorite stories have been deleted, it might happen to you, too.

Frozen would take FOREVER to save completely. I just have to hope at least one of the few places that has it up keeps it up. I'm far too lazy to save that much.

Luckily, I got a fanfiction downloader which makes things a WEE BIT easier.

perhaps the account was hacked into?

one of my fav stories was deleted once cos the author decided to quit the fandom or something, but someone else posted up his/her stories not too long after (hopefully with their permission) so hope is not always lost.

Yep. Useful, it is. The longest time it took to download a oneshot is about 9 seconds. I downloaded it about a week ago.

And should we have another board like the one on MU where people could ask about a story they remember can give as much detail as they can so others could remind them of the title or link them? "Fanfiction Detectives," I think the board was called?

Wasn't it shezaei_neko who did 90% of the detective work? Conveniently, she's here as well!

I think people could just make a new thread if they were looking for a specific fanfiction. No need to keep it to one thread in my opinion.

Yeah, shezaei neko was like lightning in finding lost fics. Guess there's no need for a separate thread if there isn't a deluge of fic finders. In the Harry potter fandom there used to be a whole livejournal dedicated to finding fics from a single pairing. Those were the days...

1. I think it was Zen who found them all?

2. And I think Nai89 was the one who write "Protect Me," so the same writer as the one who wrote the story in the OP.

I had just created a thread about it so anyone interested can ask me again.

Also, I don't have a backup of The Deal and the Protect Me file I saved was lost together with my flash drive when I was on my way to school. That sucks,no? Lol.
